Fezziwig

Was the title of the musical, where Amanda and me were stagecrew last weekend! Two of our best friends were the stagemanagers and asked us for help, and who knows me, know, that I couldn't stand that :p

We set up and decorated the stage on friday after school, had a run through and left at 10.00!!! Sadly, we didn't have the best scenechange (we had to change from a big streetscene into a living room scene within 45 sec...), so Daniel convinced us with " If you come tomorrow at 8.30 instead of 9.30, I'll buy you coffee!" to come in early :P The coffee was good, I was totally on caffein this weekend - you know what that means *Lagergrins*

Anyways, we had our final run-through, where I didn't run into a big candlestick like the evening before and ducktaped everything...

In the evening we had the first show, which was really good :) Afterwards the guys showed me the two prettiest places in Truro: A bridge over the Trainway, where you can see all the stars :) and Woodstreet, the highest point, where you have a great view over whole Truro with all its lights :)

On sunday afternoon, we had the next show, which was really good, then everything had to be packed and cleaned again. I had international christmas dinner, where I appeared sweaty, in backstage-black, old t-shirt, with splinters everywhere from sitting at the bottom...

Afterwards, the whole stagecrew went to the movies, where we watched the "The Golden Compass", which wasn't that good, as we expected it...

But all in all, the weekend was great, I freaked out a couple of times, whenever I realised that's just 1,5 months left.... But I really missed my "normal" christmas activities and had a lot of fun with awesome friends and my sister!!!!

Here comes a picture from it:

Brandon, Ethan, Collin, Charlsie, myself, and our two stagemanagers Alex and Daniel with Amanda between :)

Be blessed and shalom

Advent Advent ein Lichtlein brennt!

Yesterday was the best first december of my life :) It snowed in the night and we built up a snowman. Then a big big snowstorm began, and within one hour we had 5cm snow on top of the car!

Driving into town was crazy! Actually there was a trip for the internationals to halifax planned, but they had to cancel it. So I met a few friends in our mall and went christmas shopping!!!

Today was cold, so we still have snow and tomoroow is off - yay :)

Well, I will try to add some photos from venturer trip, baking, the last snow and christmas-activities...

Shalom, have a nive Adventweek!

Christmas-Cookies :)

Hey!

Just a short note, because it's late and I'm tired: Kiki and I made a whole bunch of christmas cookies today, and it was awesome! We baked from 8p.m. until 12.30 or something like that and made Spekulaas, Heidesnad, Vanillekipferl and Cookies in a hurry. The first were the Vanillekipferl. After trying them we looked at each other and started crying, because they really tasted like home... and we just couldn't stand that.
Halftime is over, christmas is coming... it's so odd, because on one hand-side you think time passes by so quickly and on the other hand-side you think you know all the people here forever and can't live without them anymore, but you also miss people at home... hard to discribe!

Shalom

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Schneefloeckchen, Weissroeckchen, wann kommst du geschneit?
Here it is! It started snowing on saturday, while I was on a Venturer-Trip. Actually we planned to camp, but based on the weather, we canceled it and went to a simple cottage at a lake. We hiked for about two hours at another lake. Ther it started to snow. First very softly, but then more and bigger flakes :) It was the perfect place (in the Middle of Nowhere), the perfect time (dimlight) and the perfect people (friends) to enjoy the first snow in Nova Scotia. I felt wunderful! We had Monday off and therfor a long weekend :) which was sooo good, because I was soooo tired! Yesterday it rained in town, but when we came home, everything was white, about 5cm. Awesome! I'm so happy. Today I went out for a walk through the rest snow and took pictures, you will receive in a few days, I hope. But now I have to study... school is very intense at the moment, but although I still enjoy my time with all my new friends....
But there are moments, when I miss you, because it's getting closer to christmas and this is a time with rituals (making Chocolates-Imissed it horribly-, preparing services-macht ihr spaetschichten?-) Just a filled up time....
Keep going! Shalom

Biking, Hiking and Sea-kayaking

The last weekend was one of the bests in my life!!!! We had Friday off, so I went on a Venturers-trip to east shore. We had a great time, with walking at the beach at night, discussions while watching the stars and bright moon. Thefirst day, we went bking and hiking. I was as close as possible to germany, wathcing over the big atlantic ozean. At the same evening, we ate mussels which were in the sea the same morning-the freshest you can get! After our delicious meal, we went out for a wild game... collecting glowsticks in the dark, very very very funny.
The next day was unbelieveable! We went seakayaking and it was really like in those documentations or pictures you've seen from Canada. We even went out on the atlantic ozean for a few meters, but it was to rough, exspecially for me, who kayaked the first time. This evening we flwe kites, or the kites us :P it was awesome! Around midnight we went out again , took a little walk at the beach, wathcing the rough sea. On sunday we cleaned up and went back home. A really really awesome weekend, with a lot of laugh and making new friends.
Back in school i "enjoyed" classes with my friends...:P Tomorrow is Halloween, that means, that there will be a contest for the whole class. Our World-religion class will represent some creepy rituals. I'll be a nun involved in an exercism:P, FUN!!!!
Last thursday we had a great great time at the halloween-dance, me as a thief lord, Amanda as a Gipsy and vanessa as a sexy devil:P It was pretty cool!
Tomorrow evening we'll go trick or treating with a cupple of friends. Actually we are too old for it, but since it is Vanessa's and my first real halloween, we'll go and collect some sweets!

Wish you all a nice free day on thursday ( I don't have one:() and a nice week!
Miss you!
Shalom

News

Okay, there isn't that much to tell you, but I've got a few things:
First of all, school is getting stress!!! I have to write a lot of tests and assignments. But we received our first progress report, and I'm pretty happy :)
The next thing is, that I found a Venturees group, which is very very nice. The people are funny and I like them. Next weekend is a long weekend and we will go hiking, biking and sea-kayaking :) Look very forward!
For next tuesday, I have to make a special German meals for our teachers. Every exchangestudent will present his/her country. Me and another German girl will make Dampfnudeln- yammie!
I'm so happy here, finding new friends everywhere and enjoy nearly every single second! The colours outside are unbelievable, I went for a walk yesterday, sadly I forgot my camera!
Now is weekend, and I'm so glad to have a little break. Last weekend we went to a "cornmaze" whcih is a big field of corn, where payed people hide and scare you! It was great fun, we went there with canadians and exchange students. But I was so scared! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, I was screaming very often!

Well, that's it, I have to go and enjoy my weekend!! Have a nice one! Shalom

Gekommen um zu bleiben - Came to stay!

Sorry guys, but that's exactly the way I feel at the moment. Don't think I don't miss you, but I can not imagine a life back in Germany, don't know why. I love everything here.
Today all the internationals went to a trip to Mahome bay, a cute little town, where they showed "Vogelscheuchen" (I give you that word, because I can't remeber the name:P) . It was so beautiful. The Bay is directly settled at the sea, the stores are lovely and the sun was shining. On the highway, we could see all the leeves, changing colours now. Everyday is more red, yellow and orange outside the window. At home, we curled my hair (looks very funny) and went to the movies ("The game plan" - really nice). The whole day I have a feling like flying around and loving the whole world!
On thursday there was a dance in the school, which was quiet good. And I found a place where I could help something. After six weeks doing NOTHING like that, I could help at the gaderobe. Such a satisfying feeling. Also I found a volunteer, who will take me with him, so I can get involved the scouts here :)
Well, these are a few facts here for now, not all but at least a few.
Oh and I know, why my Road is called Onslow MOUNTAIN road, because I biked to school this week, until somehow my trial left air and I wasn't able to go back home... but I enjoyed this trips very much, about 45 min one way, it's great, I felt like being in the books of Astrid Lindgren,
Well, see you guys
Bye and be blessed!

Can you hear me

can you hear me, through the dark night far away? No, I'm not homesick, the song just crossed my mind! Okay, sometimes I miss you, but not too much...
Well, I think after two weeks, I am supposed to write in English! Slowly there are more and more English words in my head, I'm starting to think in English =)
The school is okay, not too bad, but I still can't enjoy it. I tried to get into a Volleyball-team, but I didn't have enough "background". Next week all the other clubs will start, so I can get involved into something.
I don't have much time at the moment, because I have school and a lot of homework to do... so, please don't be angry, when I don't write emails or blogs very often.
My host-family is the best I could get and I enjoy every second with them, my two sisters are very nice, we're talking the whole time now. My hostdad likes the same music, so we often sit together and talk about music and stuff like that. Last week my sisters and I went to the "Clay-Cafe" where you can paint some pottery, it's really relaxing and we all enjoyed it so much.
Today, it was raining the whole day, the fall is coming...
Well, that's it for the moment I think!
Tomorrow we'll go to church, hopefully the kids at the youth group there are nice and I can make some new friends!
Hugs and Blessings

back home^^
